STEAM Steam is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics. A STEAM education provides opportunities for students to engage in daily experiences that improve their knowledge of science, technology, engineering, arts and math that drives innovation. The philosophy behind STEAM is that subjects cannot and should not be taught in isolation, just as they do not exist in isolation in the world
The design thinking cycle, Ask-Imagine-Plan-Create-Improve-Communicate, is cross disciplinary approach to problem solving. At Linda Vista, students of all ages engage in the design cycle to strengthen their ability to problem see and problem solve.
We are fortunate enough to have two design Studios at Linda Vista. We have a Makerspace where students can construct and engineer prototypes that will solve real-world problems. We also have a Design Studio which allows students to engage in robotics, coding, app design, 3D printing and much more.
